Bringing an Asian Food Night Market to Life in Ann Arbor Michigan!

Marupo ACTS (Asian Culinary and Traditions Society) will hold a charity event for celebrating and promoting AAPI Food and Culture during Immigrant month.
There will be no attendance charge for this community event, though donations are accepted.With the recent increase in Asian-hate crime, it is crucial to create safe spaces and opportunities for the broader public to understand & ally with Asian minorities.With that in mind, there are 2 main goal for this event.
To promote AAPI small businesses in the Washtenaw County region and give them an outlet to connect with potential supporters and customers.
To let event attendees and allies of the AAPI community congregate and enjoy a good community bonding experience.
Help direct attendees to to find their desired vendor/booth
Assist Vendors with needs (power, equipment, support) including being messengers with overall Event Operations Team so vendors do not have to leave their stalls unattended
Sitting at the Marupo ACTS booth to greet attendees and answer questions related to the event
Assisting in day-of-event set up and tear down which may include set up the morning of the event of previous evening of the event
Posting flyers in physical and digital community board around Washtenaw County to spread awareness about this event
Taking out trash/recycling throughout the event to prevent overflow
Other tasks (day of / or remote before event date) as discussed between supervisors and volunteers based on availability and skill/need match. Your support will play a crucial role in helping us strengthen a sense of community for minorities celebrate culture during a time when community bonds are needed most.

Do you have a passion for building a strong online presence and supporting the AAPI community? Marupo ACTS (Asian Culinary and Traditions Society), a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting historically disadvantaged Asian Americans and immigrants, including Pacific Islanders, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Online Presence Coordinator to help us amplify our mission across the digital landscape.
In this vital role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our digital footprint, primarily by managing and updating our official website, www.marupo.org. However, your responsibilities will extend beyond our direct platforms to ensure the accuracy of our organization's information online. Your responsibilities will include:
Posting updated content to keep our website current and engaging.
Creating and embedding user-friendly donation buttons and links to facilitate financial support.
Seamlessly linking or embedding our relevant social media accounts to create a cohesive online ecosystem (note: direct social media content creation is not part of this role, but collaboration with the Social Media Coordinator is expected).
Implementing strategies to ensure Marupo ACTS ranks highly across various search engines (web browsers, nonprofit directories, and databases), increasing our visibility.
Proactively maintaining the accuracy of our online presence by promptly deleting or revising obsolete or incorrect information
Contributing to the security of our online presence by pre-emptively identifying and protecting against potential imitators.
Implementing strategies to drive increased web traffic, ultimately helping us connect with more beneficiaries, volunteers, and donors.
We are looking for a volunteer who is eager to significantly improve our online and digital presence. Ideal candidates will possess:
A strong understanding of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) best practices.
Preferred ability to code websites, specifically knowledge of HTML coding, along with a keen eye for good UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) design.
Preferred experience in creating basic graphics and a general understanding of graphic design principles.
Any prior experience or knowledge of nonprofit directories and Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) directories is highly valued.
Experience with WordPress is also preferred, as we are open to migrating our current Google Sites webpage to the WordPress platform if the volunteer has the necessary skills.

Marupo ACTS (Asian Culinary and Traditions Society), a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting historically disadvantaged Asian Americans and immigrants, including Pacific Islanders, is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Social Media and Online Community Coordinator to help us cultivate meaningful connections and amplify our mission across various digital platforms.
In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of building and nurturing a thriving online community around Marupo ACTS. Your primary focus will be on fostering organic engagement and dialogue with our audience across various platforms
Helping to create and maintain our presence across a range of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, RedNote, WeChat Groups, Facebook Groups, Reddit, Twitter, Tumblr, and Lemon8.
Developing compelling and engaging social media content, including images, short videos, and potentially longer-form video content.
Creating and adhering to a strategic posting calendar to ensure optimal visibility and engagement across all platforms.
Regularly performing analytics on social media engagement metrics, providing clear and concise readouts to the Board of Directors, and proposing data-driven strategies for continuous improvement.
Actively interacting with our followers and the broader online community to build relationships and foster engagement.
Maintaining a safe and inclusive online environment through effective moderation on our social media platforms and Discord.
Implementing strategies to generate organic engagement and meaningful dialogues with our followers.
Collaborating on the outreach and marketing efforts for our events and fundraising campaigns to maximize their impact.
We are looking for a volunteer who is passionate about social media and community building. Ideal candidates will possess:
Must-have familiarity and active use of Instagram or other platforms listed above
A plus if you are a quick learner and a digital native comfortable with exploring and mastering new online platforms.
Demonstrated experience in creating engaging social media content, including images, short videos, and potentially long-form video.
A plus if you have presentation skills, particularly the ability to present key data in a compelling and concise format.
